Master Classes

Abigail has taught master classes to dance students of all ages and experience levels. Abigail leads her students through the choreographic process she has created, which translates Hemingway’s Iceberg Theory into a technique to create dances. During her time with the students, she explains how her method allows the dancers to experience what the actual sensations of the movements feel like within her set of choreographic movements. Next, she leads the students through a method of generating movement used in her choreographic technique, which is a modified version of Hot Mess, a technique created by Alex Ketley. This goal of this is to give the students an opportunity to understand how movement can be crafted through Abigail’s process of choreography as well as what it feels to have strong sensory engagement within movement.
